All entrants must be eighteen (18) years of age or
older, amateurs in good standing, and invited by the
Labor Day Tournament Committee.
All entrants must complete and return the entry application
form. The $275.00 entry fee must accompany all applications
or they cannot be accepted. All entrants in the Championship
Division must have a handicap that does not exceed 3.4
under the USGA Men’s Handicap System.
Note: The limit is 3 in areas where the USGA Slope
System is not in use. The Championship Division will
be limited to 78 players. The Flight Division will be
limited to 40 teams. The total field will be limited
to 158 players. Entries will close at 5:00p.m. on August
12, 2008, or prior to such time when the field reaches
the maximum in either category. All entries must have
a verifiable handicap or entry will be rejected.
Entry fees for the not accepted will be promptly returned.
Once an entrant has been accepted, entry fees are non-refundable.
The Championship Field will be limited to 78 players.
In the event the committee received entries in excess
of 78, the final field will be selected based on the following
priority categories:
• All former Labor Day Invitational Champions
• Top 30 Finishers in 2007 Labor Day Invitational
• 2008 USGA Open Local Qualifiers
• 2008 USGA Senior Open Sectional Qualifiers
• 2008 USGA Public Links Sectional Qualifiers
• 2006-2007 USGA Amateur Sectional Qualifiers
• 2007 USGA Senior Amateur Sectional Qualifiers
• 2007 USGA Mid Amateur Sectional Qualifiers
• 2007 Alabama Golf Association Mid-Amateur Top
10 Finishers
• Any Amateur or Mid-Amateur Champion of a State
Golf Association since 2003
• Top 25 Finishers in 2008 Alabama State Amateur
Championship
• Top 10 Finishers in the following 2008 Championships
• Azalea Amateur South Carolina
• Country Club of Birmingham Invitational

Championship Division:
The Championship Division will compete in 54 holes of
stroke play competition from the tournament tees. After
36 holes, the field will be reduced to the low 60 scores,
including ties. Prizes will be awarded to the top 10 finishers.
Prizes will also be awarded to the low Mid-Am participant
and the low Senior-Am participant.
In the event of a tie for the Championship proper, there
will be a multi-hole play-off immediately following play
with the Champion being determined by the lowest total
of those holes. If a tie still exists, the Champion will
then be decided by ‘sudden victory’ following
the same sequence of holes.
Flight Division:
Each flight will consist of eight teams. All play will
be stroke play. Each team in the flight division must
have a handicap differential not to exceed 8 strokes.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each
flight.
All participants are required to register on Friday,
August 29, in person by
3 p.m. or an alternate will replace your position in
the field. If a player cannot register by this time,
he must notify the registration desk by phone at (251)
342-5138 to reserve his position.
Practice rounds are permitted to all accepted entrants
on Friday. Tee times MUST be obtained through the Golf
Shop (251) 342-5138
1. The Country Club of Mobile is a soft spike facility.
All participants are required to wear shoes with non-metallic
traditional spikes.
2. All participants must wear appropriate golf attire
on the golf course. In accordance with this policy, the
following clothing is deemed inappropriate: denim jeans
or shorts, tennis wear, tee shirts, mesh shirts, gym shorts
and swimwear. Shorts must be Bermuda length and shirts
with collars are required.
3. The Committee has the final decision on the acceptability
of any entrant and by virtue of a signed application,
said entrant agrees not to protest rejection of his entry.
4. The Labor Day Invitational is a GolfWeek/Titleist points
event and an Alabama Golf Association sanctioned event.
5. A player code of conduct will be strictly enforced.

6. USGA Rules will govern all play.
The clubs dining facilities will be available to all
participants beginning Thursday. NO
CREDIT CARDS
Reservations are required in the evenings.
Proper attire must be worn in the Clubhouse at all
times. All events are “dress” casual.
